The Restaurant
The restaurant engine room (the kitchen) is in the safe hands of Noel Corston. Noel's cooking background ranges from a small harbour side restaurant in Cornwall to Michelin starred establishments, from Europe to Mexico City, his wife's hometown.
Noel’s cooking falls into the genre of Modern European, applying an elegant lightness of touch that encourages the ingredients to speak for themselves. Through careful sourcing of top quality produce and constant experiment, he strives to enhance both humble and more luxurious ingredients without masking their individual flavours and characteristics.
Nora, Noel’s wife controls the front of house service, and her unobtrusive yet committed and informative approach, ensures a relaxing time for all customers, be it dining or simply enjoying a fresh coffee and homemade croissant.

"“The hills of Exmoor, our lowland woods as well as the wild, crashing Atlantic are all right here on our doorstep. Writers and artists have been inspired by our landscape for centuries, and as a craftsman, this is also where I look for my inspiration. Respect for nature precedes respect for ingredients, and both are essential components for the honest and hardworking chef.”"
Noel Corston, Head Chef, The Courtyard Restaurant, Woolacombe
